            <p id="isPasted"><strong>Environment and Communities Directorate &ndash; Neighbourhood Services. </strong> &nbsp;</p><p>We are looking for an enthusiastic plants&rsquo; person to join our grounds maintenance team at Avenham &amp; Miller Park. Your primary role within this team will be to assist the Assistant Head Gardener and Head Gardener to produce the annuals/ perennials and shrubs needed for use across the City&#39;s parks &amp; open spaces.</p><p>Therefore, practical experience of glasshouse/ nursery production and plant propagation techniques will be essential. You will also assist the parks team in this Grade II listed park with a wide range of gardening and cleansing duties when required: (planting schemes, shrub pruning, litter picking, emptying bins etc.)&nbsp;</p><p>The role will require weekend working (usually as part of watering rota). The applicant must be able to work well unsupervised or in a team. Good written communication and financial skills are also important aspects of the role. This is a full-time position of 37 hours a week.             <p id="isPasted">Are you passionate about growing your own food? if yes, you could be the person we are looking for. Preston City Council is looking for a full-time Allotment Officer, an understanding of Allotment legislation would be an advantage, but training will be provided. Preston currently manages 8 allotment sites and 3 community orchards, with a further site being developed as part of a planning condition and one allotment association site.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;Preston has invested in the Orkastrate software system to assist in the management of its plots and tenancies. Working as part of the Parks Ranger team, your role is to ensure all allotment sites are managed effectively including those overseen by Allotment associations.
